Sharp reportedly will start equipment move-in at its new 10.5G LCD plant in Guangzhou, China in February 2019, with plans to kick off the first phase of the facility in August and to begin volume production in October in the year, according to a Korea-based ET News report. .

The first-phase facilities of the 10.5G line will have a production capacity of 45,000 substrates a month, said the report, which added that Sharp also plans to undertake a second-phase expansion project for the plant with an additional capacity of 45,000 substrates in 2020.

The 10.5G line will focus on production of flat panels ranging from 40- to 69-inch sizes at the initial stage, said the report.
