China is expected to be the second largest producer of AMOLED panel technology, beating out panel makers in Taiwan and Japan, according to market observers.

The country already has constructed or is constructing seven AMOLED lines, four of which are 4.5G lines and three 5.5G ones for total investment costs of US$8.5 billion, the observers said. Most of the fabs are expected to be completed by 2015.

Japan Display meanwhile is expected to further pursue small- to medium-size AMOLED panel production in addition to high-resolution
