China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT)aims to ship 100,000 Ultra HD TV panels in October 2013, according to industry sources.
After shipping an accumulative 70,000 units throughout June and July of the year, the company expects to see increased orders throughout the China October 1 holiday period, with shipments expected to reach around 70,000 units in August and about 100,000 in October, the sources said.
CSOT also reportedly has plans to mass produce 49-inch Ultra HD TV panels and is working to bump up production yields for the technology on one of its 8.5G lines.

It would be an addition to the company's Ultra HD TV panel lineup, which also includes 32-, 55- and 110-inch units.
Meanwhile, more news about LG Display producing 49-inch Ultra HD panels is circulating in the market. The company has plans to mass produce the technology in the first quarter of 2014 and is also likely to mass produce 49-inch Full HD panels by the end of 2013.
Market observers believe the 49-inch size will pose challenges for panel makers who produce 50-inch Ultra HD panels such as Innolux as well as other 46- and 47-inch TV panel products in the market.
